Entry for Novermber 30, 2007

Well I have now really entered the world of Cyber Space. This is my first blog ever. I am going to try to use this as a source to keep in touch with my customers and also so that they can get to know me better.

When 2007 started out I was a little worried because I had only one wedding booked. I had 6 in 2006 so my goal was to have atleast 6 in 2007. Boy, was I surprised at how many calls started coming in after New Years Day. The one turned into seven so I accomplished my goal. My goal in 2008 is to have atleast seven. It looks promising because I already have FIVE booked!

I had so much fun with my business this year. My communication with customers improved with my web site being in my yellow pages listing. It is amazing how much traffic I get. I am going to improve it in 2008. Right now I am researching picture hosting web sites. After January I will have online viewing of proofs. Everybody will still get to keep their proofs but they will be able to share with family and friends who are far away.

The weddings I shot this year were great. Every couple had their own personal touches that made their day special. I love being involved and included in their memories.

Matt and Melissa had a great spring day that was really windy. They had cute sunglasses and wanted to know if they could wear them in their outdoors pictures at Riverside Park. I said OF COARSE because these are your pictures. The pictures out on the balcony at the La Crosse Center were also beautiful.

Kristi and Brian also had a beautiful spring day that was windy. The sunlight was streaming in the windows and made for some awesome pictures. The crab apple trees were in full bloom and gave me a great opprotunity  to be creative. The most memorable moment was when bridesmaid Jenny gave her speach. She had everyone in tears including myself.

Nichole and Zoltan's wedding in May was held at a small quaint church . It was a tender moment when Zoltan put on Nichole's pearls. He wanted me to capture that moment in pictures for him. The wedding  was at the same time when the phlox were in full bloom. It was also when I taught myself how to do black and white pictures with some coloring. I was more excited than the the bride and groom. I used the phlox and the wedding parties dramatic red colors to enhance the dramatic black and white pictures.

Sara and Steve's wedding in June was the wedding of Sara's dreams. She had everything planned down to the smallest detail. She had lists for everything (including for me) and everything went as smooth as planned. Her dress was gorgeous with her long train and her cascading flowers to complement it. I really loved the decorations at the hall. Since they meet at a cabin on a lake they had a beach theme. Their cake had sugar molded shells and brown sugar around it to look like sand. Everything was just beautiful!!

I am going to close my blog for tonight. I will share the other wedding with you shortly in the future.  Take care and Happy Holidays!
